PORT INFORMATION

GUIDELINES FOR OBTAINING SERVICES

Generally, the Sabah Ports Authority functions as the landlord of all wharves servicing ships on a common-user basis and all warehouses godowns that serves as transit storage warehouses for goods before loading into the ships in respect of export cargo and before collection by consignees or their agents in the case of import cargo. But all cargo handling and ships operation are carries outby the terminal operator, Sabah Ports Sdn.Bhd. in all server ports in Sabah.

Other Services

Pilotage

Pilotage is not compulsory. Pilotage is provided by the Marine Department or pilot from private sector.

Stevedoring

Stevedoring services are provided by the Authority. Operating hours are:

1st shift (0730 - 1530 hrs)
2nd shift (1530 - 2330 hrs)
3rd shift (on request) 2330 - 0730 hrs

Security

The Authority through the terminal operator provides its own security personnel.

Water

Fresh water is available from mains at all the wharves.
